My name is Sassa.

The Real Mama.

I started this blog as a passion project so that my voice could be heard, and maybe there were some mamas out there that might get a good laugh out of it. I am a mother to two wonderful children. My oldest daughter Aria was 18 months old at this blog’s inception, and my son was three months. I love them SO much, but motherhood is A LOT. I’m here to make that easier. Whether that be you getting a good laugh out of the crazy shit my kids do or using one of the books or item recommendations from my neurotic research pre, during, and post-babies (is there ever really a post, though?). I see you, mamas, and I’m here to tell you the REAL shit.

Ahh, the holiday season. Where you get beautiful photos with family and friends showing you how wonderful their children are shaping up to be. Spectacularly crafted cards that line your fridge, doorway, or maybe even a fancy card holder thingy ma bobber. I was always so envious of the beautiful photos in the orchards or… Read more: Picture Perfect
  • The Poop Chronicles II: Shit Eventually Happens
If you’ve read my previous post, you know that parenthood is all about dealing with shit. Literally. Shit. Though my daughter is notorious for her poop crib painting (see the previous post here), my son has quite a different reputation. For the first few weeks of his life, my husband and I were genuinely concerned.… Read more: The Poop Chronicles II: Shit Eventually Happens
